Day 2 BOB

So nothing today the other special showed at the last second and took breed. He was a group 2 yesterday. His name is CH BAEWYN TELLTAIL SMOOTH OPERATOR. He is much more mature and Cappy needs the time. I did do better on the table today though. We had his Hips and elbows done today and have a copy. So the question is do you want me to show you and everyone guess what the vet told me. Or wait til I get a report back from OFFA. Let me know. Or if you want email me and I will sent you the picture and then get back to me.

New to BOB ( and that's not Jim Bob)

So Captain showed for his first time today in Best of Breed (BOB). I felt he did well I liked his ears and he moved well. Denise still said I need to work on the table more. Harvey was not there as I am sure he is off to Nationals. So I had the other dog that always wins if Harvey doesn't. They tend to go back and forth. The other dog is older and more mature than Captain's little 18 months. He is before me in the pics followed by a special bitch I hadn't seen before. So we show again tomorrow at 8:30 and has his prelim OFA hips done at 10:45. So here are a few pics and a couple of surprises.

Good News (unofficial)

So I have not yet received an email nor gotten anything in the mail but I checked with my tracking number on the OFA site today and it stated that Captain was CLEAR. He had a fifty fifty chance and this lets be breathe better as I know people are starting to talk about breeding. All you have to do is see him about and he is interested in it. Now for some x-rays. Debating if I should do an OFA prelim hip this weekend or wait til October when he is 2. If you have an opinion let me know. Once I get official news will post too. Captain shows this weekend in his first BOB class. He was a day off of having his name as CHampion in the program but most people know he has finished. Will let everyone know how things go. He is up against 2 males on Sat and Bitch, then Sun up against a male only.

So this morning after getting home from work I looked to see how the AKC was doing with Captain's point and title and what did I see CH C-MYSTE BALEDWR WHOMPING WILLOW. So he is now listed as a Champion. I waited to the last minute yesterday before entries closed for the Chief Solano Kennel Club show here in Vallejo on April 24/25 but they were only up to his 14TH point. Today he is finished. I called infodog and emailed I hope they will make the name change being the show has not been closed for more than a day. Wish us luck. On a side note I swabbed Cappy's cheek today and will mail off his DNA test for DM today so again wish us luck. The other note is I believe the same weekend as the show earlier I will have his prelim OFA done too. If his prelim is good I will do his PennHip shortly after that. Thanks for everyone's support and I hope to post good positive results soon of some of his tests.

Day 4 of 4 Day Cluster

So Captain went back to the ring today after taking the day of to celebrate with brother Fig at The Ranch. We decided to stay in class today due to only one other dog entered in class. Was hoping at the least he could get his point. But as with the other two days we were again Winners Dog and Best of Winners. So he got a bonus point just in case. He is looking good and trying to look into the crystal ball as to were Harvey won't be so we can try to get a BOB. Maybe the weekend before the Nationals otherwise Captain needs to get a better game face on. Thing again maybe a trip North could be in line you never know and I am sure there are a couple of people who would love to see him. Tell next time. Thanks for all the support. Forgot to say that Captain celebrated the weekend by having a whole Chicken leg quarter to himself. He took a while but he loved every bite.
