Onward to Dixon

So just a few notes. Don't try to groom 2 dogs while watching the World Series. Plus doing it inside in the bath tub and an indoor table. Got it all done but should have started a lot sooner. It is really amazing how they are brother and sister and have two completely different coats. Captain's gets fluffy and Greta just looks great. On a side note her hair is coming back good and with the morning groom I am hoping her chest will look a lot better. Go chicken and missing link.

So tomorrow will be the first time I will be showing 2 dogs at the same time. Of course Greta is in Open Bitch while Captain is in BOB. My dad will be traveling with me and will take Greta back into the ring when she takes Winners Bitch. That way he doesn't have to try to put Cappy up on the table. So here is the following for this weekend. Can always check in in the late part of the day on infodog.com for results. I will be tweeting and FB as we go.

Friday Northern CA Herding Group Assoc.

8:30 ring 6 count is 4-6(3-0)-1 There are 30 dogs before we go in.

Saturday and Sunday Sacramento Vallejo Dog Fanciers Assoc.

Sat 9:00 ring 6 count is 4-6(3-0) There are 12 dogs before we go in.

Sun 9:00 ring 3 count is 4-5(3-0) There are 13 dogs before we go in.

Weather forecast is for few showers Fri/Sat with rain showers Sun.
Hopefully it won't be as bad last weekend. It could go a more North as it goes.
Look Out Southern Oregon.

On a Great Side note Archer is hopefully showing up tomorrow. The is the plan for now. Lindsey is bringing him by so he can get use to the show grounds and dogs. I am hoping to work with him a little and of course play. Might be able to get a picture of the 3 too.

That's it for now wish the puppies luck.

Dog Show Woes

So today finished my first weekend showing Greta. She was class 2 on Thurs, Class 1 and Reserve Fri and Today. She loves to show and really loves to stand and bait just like Cappy. She was a little hard on the table and is a little reluctant to have her teeth shown so I will be working on the table this week. We have a little run in with upset tummy and she lost more coat from being nervous and illness. She seams naked almost. I am trying my best with grooming and poofing up her chest.

Today though was the worst day I have had to date showing. We showed in the rain. Greta is used to indoors but she is moving well on grass. The other contender today was the wind. It was blowing at us with the rain and Greta didn't like the table to almost the end. In the pictures the canopy we are under I was told later blew apart and had to have people hold until repair during the Pems showing.

Next up is Cappy and Greta next week Fri, Sat, Sun in Dixon then 2 weeks later in Napa.

Before going in you can't tell the Wind and Rain but it was there.

Is it my turn yet?

Finally calmed down on the table

Wet grass isn't too bad

Greta and Halloween

Thought I would get a consensus of what people thought about Greta and a Halloween costume. Since Malibu loves to get into the spirit we had some old costumes. Isabel's pick is the fairy princess with wings. Cappy was thinking he could be Darth Vader and the girls could be Princess Lea and slave Princess Lea. Also in the hunt is Batman, Supergirl and Wonderwoman.

Greta the Visitor

So after having a good weekend in WA, I returned home with Captain's sister Greta. We are hoping over the next month and a half to get her as finished as possible. Greta will be shown 3 days in Pleasanton then shown 3 days in Dixon with Captain and then 2 days in Napa with Cappy too. Greta is doing as well as possible. She settled in great and then after ruff housing with Cappy and Malibu seemed to hurt herself and didn't want to get off her rear end. After seeing our vet and talking to both Megan and Mandy we felt it was just soft tissue . Once she rested the full day yesterday and had some Rimadyl you would never know the scare she put us through. Today she is back to being Greta but I will be limiting her activity for the next week so she will be good as new for the shows. Ashely has taken a strong liking to Greta who she calls G or Little G and wants to keep here. Here are a few photos. On a side note we get to meet Traci tomorrow as we will be meeting up with Alden for a little Napa Valley wine tasting.

Washington Specialty and Show

So we are on our way home from Washington. We had a blast meeting everyone. Got a few of those he looks better than in his pictures. (Captain not me) HE showed well both days but he is still young and will look even better with age. HE did not make the cut either day but that is OK. After a good table lesson today from Mandy and actually doing well he looked really good today and as we had to split the BOB class due to too many of us, girls first then the guys. Carolyn said she heard quite a few of those comment s you like to here. Were is THAT BLUE GUY FROM, so I am happy. On a side note someone is on the way home with me and Captain. That would be what for it, what for it. Sister????????? Greta. I am bringing her t=home to show a little bit. She will travel with us to San Diego in 2 weeks but too late to show then will be back to show all 3 days in Dixon Halloween weekend and then 2 weeks later in Napa. Hopefully we can get a few more points and a major for her. Wish her luck. Sounds like my dad will be going to shows with since he would need to show Captain if Greta does well. Well night night from Salem and will be back home tomorrow.
