New Stacking

So here are some of Captain stacked. I think I am getting better at this and I am practicing. Just finished a book called Show Me which taught a lot of novice things. We brushed him out today after a couple of hours at the dog park. He is still on the small side and is of course the hit of the park. But as usual I get the "What is he mixed with" question. So at least people in Vallejo are getting educated about Cardis. Most knew Malibu but she is normally on the big side. Captain has not become a punk yet to the small dogs so he has only been on the big side once when there wasn't a lot there. Enjoy and will blog later.

  1. I am in love with this puppy...

    :)

You are getting a lot better on stacking, he looks so different. The front needs to come back under him a little more (picture the legs strait up and down) and maybe in (looking from the front) about a half inch each leg. When you groom him for show brush the chest hair forwards from the ribs to the chest - it will make him look more mature. It's all about the illusion when the judge glances at him.

He's beautiful. I have to find some baby pix of his dad for you...

  2. Have fun at the match!

The side-stack pictures looks nice, but Mandy is correct that you still need to wrap his front legs a little closer to his chest. I know that in breeds like Newfs you want those front legs to come straight down. Not the case with these guys. If he's bait-stacking on the ground don't worry about it too much, but when you're hand-stacking him on the table make sure that you pull them in a little.
